Age: From the mid to late Showa era (1926-1989)
Fabric & Pattern: 100% silk exterior and lining. The Haori is a jacket that is traditionally worn over Kimono. This Haori has an iridescent cloud pattern that is woven with foiled threads. It has a kamon (family crest) embroidered on the nape

Width of sleeve to sleeve across shoulders with arms straight out: 49 3/4" (126cm)
Length from back of neck to bottom of hem: 30 1/2" (77cm)
Width of back from shoulder to shoulder seam: 23 3/4" (60cm)
Vertical sleeve length: 18" (45.5cm)

Condition: Very good vintage condition. Please see all of the photos for details about imperfections . There are multiple stains on the lining. There may be tiny flaws on the exterior, which are not noticeable when wearing. There are basting stitches along some of the seams. The basting stitches were done by the previous owner to preserve the garment for long term storage. You can wear the garment with most of the basting threads in place (if you are going non-traditional anyway). Otherwise, you can easily, but carefully, remove the basting threads yourself

Freshening: Air outside for 1 1/2 to 2 hours on a dry day with good airflow, preferably on a kimono hanger
Wrinkles: Proper storage and the above freshening procedure will help avoid wrinkles. If you must iron, do so on the lowest silk temperature setting, dry iron/no steam, and use a pressing cloth between the silk and the iron
Cleaning: We recommend using a professional dry cleaner who has experience with fine vintage silk garments. Spot cleaning yourself is not recommended
